Christopher Owens prepares for release of fourth book in February

Belfast author Christopher Owens is preparing for the release of his fourth book, Soviet Hotel Dressing Gown on February 26th, 2006,

An exploration of loss and masculinity and the effects of trauma on societies and individuals, it is sure to earn more praise for the author.

Owens' most recent book Soineanta Maskirovka is a melancholic and darkly witty story of recent retiree, Gilbert Hood.

Previous books, dethrone god, and A Vortex of Securocrats explored the darker side of life in Belfast and a wider post-peace deal Northern Ireland.

Surreal at times, existential angst at its best, with a laugh along the way, while you wait on Soviet Hotel Dressing Gown, check out all Christopher Owens books on Amazon.

Race the Undead picked as one of the 2025 'stop books

Somethings come as a real surprise, Like checking your book and find only three typos after it goes to print. Or checking randomly and finding you've sold enough copies to afford aa case of beer.

But a real surprise was that yesterday (19/12/25) that I was included in the Top 10 Books of 2025 by writer, Christopher Owens in his column for Pensive Quill.

To be included by such a respected reviewer and talented writer (check out his books here) is a source of real delight.

Race the Undead was a labour of love, much delayed as my father was ailing, and eventually, after his passing it could be completed. It is flawed in many ways, but from feedback, and Christopher's review, it is clear that the story prevails.

So a massive thank you to Christopher for even considering Race the Undead, let alone ranking it in the top 10 0f 2025.

And, if you wish to read Race the Undead, or any other of my books, head here,

Please do check out the other books included in Christopher's list, support independent writers, and if you get a Kindle for Christmas make sure to download my books -please.
